Melting :)

I know id probably lose more weight faster if i worked out while watching my carb intake... but its ok for now!

So update! absolutely ZERO working out... and i am currently down to 138.6lbs :3 not bad! i am happy! today i just put on Patricias size 6 holister pants. obviously they were unwearable up top (muffins!) but i was ABLE to put them on :))) also Niks babysitter asked me if i lost weight! i am pleased :)

So ill keep going... not sure if tomorrow/sat weigh in will be any good (midterms this week and i completely binged on carbs... i mean i still tried to monitor my intake but im sure - like today - i ate way over 100g.) ill be happy to be under 139 but i bet tomorrow ill be somehwere above 139. but its ok, next week will be better :)) i worked hard for my exams this week and so far i got one B+ and hopefully another B+ or an A!

Low Carb



Yes. Since July 27th nothing has happened lol. Ive been working and bleh stressed about school. BUT what i did start about 2 weeks ago was a low-carb diet. It all started with Mel getting on that wagon and to be honest i was skeptical. I decided to try it BUT i wasnt going to be as intense as Mel. She decided she wanted to be on a 50g per day carb limit and for me that was too much. I found out that i was eating on average at least 100g per day (and most of the time MORE). I continued to use MyFitnessPal to log my foods but didnt care to look at the caloric intake. I still planned on eating less than 1200 a day btw.

So the first day went by and i realized i ate way fewer calories because i had already met my carb needs (i decided that 70-80g per day was gonna be my goal). I found myself trying to make up for the few calories by eating no carb foods like eggs and cheeses. Mel was having an easier time eating enough calories (shes not counting them anyway) because she enjoys eating nuts and other stuff but eh not me... im also lazy and cheap lol.

this is the chart May found and i was excited to see that i was in the "sweet spot" for weight loss!

So after a week or so (I wasnt really counting the days), i decided to weigh myself. Note that before this weigh in, I was 145.6 or something. A week later i found myself at 144.6! I had effortlessly lost a lb! I didnt work out at all! I guess maybe work might play a role in it but work to me feels the same as school (i miss some meals, and i walk around lol). So i thought that maybe it was a fluke or something. I continued to monitor my carb intake for another week i think...

Today i weighed myself again. I just wanted to see where i was at after approximately 2 weeks of lower carb intake... i was 141.8. I couldnt believe it. I weighed myself several times and even picked up the scale and shook it just to make sure there was no error in the reading. But no i was definately 141.8! that means in about 2 weeks i lost 4lbs! DOING NOTHING! I could barely lose that much doing P90X! I was still in shock so then i measured myself.

At 145.8 my tummy was probably 39" or so and 2 weeks of low carb got me to 38.75. Not a big deal really but thats how big my tummy was at 141 after P90x. Then i measured my waist. I had gone from 32.5" to 31.75 O_O.... FUCK IT DELETED ALL OF WHAT I SAID HERE... Ugh i also measured my thighs and went from 24" to 23.25".... total loss of like 2.25"... blah awesome..

ok that just pisses me off. I had hella shit down here but somehow it got removed after i did a preview... bleh whatever.

Anyways, I will still try to do P90X but probably only next spring since i dont have the tools to complete it in sacramento. I will most likely do some videos like Plyos on the days i miss the gym.

Starting

So i didnt gain too much weight! despite all of the sweets i have been eating in the last like 3 weeks lol. last weigh in i was 144.0lbs i think and today i weighed in at 145.6lbs. so i gained almost 2 lbs... but i dont think thats that bad considering that was due to poor eating AND no exercise. i expected to have gained more. but that ends now! (hah..)

before school starts i want to be 139.5-9lbs. thats about -5lbs and i can do it! heh. tomorrow i will start working out again because tonite i really need to get working on my applications... id like them to be as done as possible by aug 1.

Failure to the max...

So as you can see i havent blogged in forever... (A MONTH). I feel so shitty that i burned out of P90X in TWO WEEKS... im starting completely over monday (gonna work out before then tho but officially restarting p90 on monday ... restarting at phase 1). I am very disappointed in myself but thats how it usually goes... i get going on something then i miss a day or two then before i know it im completely off the horse... -_-

this time around is a test for me to get through this. my plan is to still get under 140 before school starts (tomorrow ill weigh in and hopefully i wont have gained too much...) and then go from there. by the end of the year id like to be -20lbs lighter AT LEAST. that means ... lets say 145-20 = 125. not bad.   but i almost might start doing vlogs so i can see face changes but ill probably only do that every two weeks or something.

anyways. i will start TONITE... well i need adam to turn the treadmill and lower it but yes i want to start soon.. (if not tonite :P but i do have work i need to do.... )

Week 2

Wooo. Week 2 is technically finished! So ill just give a quick update... no real loss in terms of inches although I think I might have lost a little? 1/4 in? Haha BUT I DID LOSE 1lb lol... doesn't seem like much but that's not bad after a 1.8 last week. normally (non-p90x), I would be lucky to lose 0.3-0.5 after a -1.8lbs but 1lb is not bad :) that means in 2 weeks i almost lost 3lbs which is great! I feel much stronger too. Ab ripper is getting a little easier each time I do it!

Also, what may have contributed to my lower weight loss this week might have been the slightly poor eating habits (LOTS OF SNACKING -_- like ice creams... DONUTS - no more!) and I didnt do as many extra workouts as I did the first week. I think the first week I walked/jogged at least 3 times with Mel outside... and this week maybe only once.

Anyways things are still great! I haven't missed a day but hopefully the boyfriend wont be scolding me for working out late tonite since hes not even home from work and I havent worked out AT ALL today... (TOMORROW IS WORK DAYY). So I still need to get my "legs and back + abs" in tonite... heh oops.

Summary of Week 2:
-1lb (-2.8lbs total)

GOALS FOR WEEK 3!
Lose 1lb at least. and maybe get to 38in tummy? :P but id like to be 143-142 (142 would be AMAZING).

Week 1

Hello!!! Week 1 of P90X just ended yesterday :) yesterdays "rest/stretch" day was well deserved and felt SOO good. Results of first week? Pretty freakin good if i say so. Although im not sure how much of it was real... because i was eating so bad and not working out before p90x that i think i might have just lost water weight or soemthing...

146.8 to 145.0 = -1.8lbs
40in belly to 39in = -1in
34 to 32.5in waist = -1.5in

everything else stayed the same (thighs, arms)

but i LOVE p90x so far! Plyos is KILLER... but i LOVE it. My second favorite seems to be kenpo :) i thought it would be stupid but it feels good to punch haha. great for stress <3. And yoga wasnt too bad! i still dislike it... but that shit gets you sweating and panting like cardio does. also my back feels amazing! esp since  ive done like a bagillion "pull ups". i feel a new muscle between my shoulder blades :)

Anyways... here goes week 2! Lets see what happens :)

oh and ive been drinking shakes after each work out with flax seed and protein powder and i also sometimes jog/walk in the morning for like half an hour. no other real differences in diet... keeping 1000kcal.

10 weeks

10 weeks is what...70 days? lets try something....

starting today till the friday before school starts... i will weigh in every friday. i  am going to eat 1200cal max and work out twice a day for at least an hour total. BUT the trick here is i am going to try... P90X :)

Mel has been enjoying a morning run with Niko and Kiba (fostering a dog) and its about 35min... so that will be happening every morning or at least most mornings. the days it doesnt happen, ill walk/run on treadmill.

so ill at least get done with 2 phases before school starts. thats a good time to see results... hopefully ill lose enough :) its only 10 weeks so i hope ot lose 10lbs at least.

SO shake every morning (THATS IT). NO snacking (unless unplanned but ill still try to avoid it) - well healthy snacking is good. i will be probably using the "free" foods from the spark people diet mel and i are trying to master. free foods like fruits, veggies, corn, sweet potato, etc.

note that many of these P90 videos are already an hour so hour + morning jog is 90min workout a day. perfect. so lets try it :) i will take my first photos and weigh ins tomorrow (but my weigh ins will be fridays) and we will go from there. day one photo ---> day 30 photo ---> day 90 photo.

ive never done this so i may look different by the end compared to when i just did cardio and separate weights. this is like all circuit training. from what ive seen online, i expect to LOOK different and have the scale some what effected. some people look so much different in 30 days but have only lost like 5lbs or something. well see! ive always wanted to complete one of these programs.. like i wanna do insanity eventually and i have p90 so i might as well try it :) so many success stories... LETS DO IT

So last week i weighed myself... lol and it said 145! fun huh? yea since i came back from school, its been a eating-fest. so tomorrow i plan to start again... and hope to lose 5lbs before my birthday. so hopefully 139? or just 140.

good stuff ;) looks like 1050cals is good for 1lb and i didnt even work out as much as i wanted to.

finals week.... not too focused on losing weight but ill try to work out anyway.

Nothing!

No weight loss this week lol but also no weight GAIN! so im pretty okay with that. i ate pretty well but i didnt work out very much... (school...). only 2 more weeks till summer so thats when the REAL weight loss begins! but anyways last nite was horrible because i hate 2 days worth of food. so today im gonna try to stay under 1000cals total while working out twice today (60min walk and 50min circuit training and maybe more if im up to it).

that is all... hopefully by this coming friday ill be 142.9 or something. :)

-0.4lbs wha?

Lol so since about a week or two ago, my exercise regiment has not been going too well. I had all my midterms over the two weeks and I studying my ass off.

BUT apparently after not losing weight the week before, I stepped on the scale expecting to see some damage, but I had lost 0.4lbs. Which was probably from both weeks. I tried to eat around my calorie limit since I wasnt working out as well...

SO theres only 2 more weeks of school left... and after that, the TRUE weight loss will begin. I have summer to get under 125lbs (-20lbs in about 15 weeks. I want to at least be under 130 so -15 would work too.)

This week I am planning on working out 4x since I have the time... hopefully will be 142.9 by friday.

Ive lowered my calorie limit to 1100 and i wanna see how that goes... :)

Goal next Friday: 142.9 (-0.5lbs)

Wk 2 Progress- little but its there

This week stats: -0.6lbs = 143.8lbs

Its not GREAT. but its not + lol. so im happy. there were a few days where i ate more than i needed to... like uh wednesday sucked because wednesday is mine and Pats donut day and typically get a bag of donut holes (630cal or something). So that was my treat... and so i planned the rest of the day to be healthy. Well, someone at Pats work came out with a cupcake and i got all excited but i was thinking that i wouldnt be able to get one so i was just excited because i saw it. Then pat got me one... i ate it... it was OKAY... and realized i had 2 fatty sugary sweets that day. BLEH. So.... yea that day sucked.

Something else that has been bothering me is the compulsive action to count every fruit i put in my smoothie. I know i really shouldnt since its very healthy but there are sugars in the fruit... my smoothie comes out to be like 3oo but its mostly the soy protein powder and the banana. but im nitpicking all my fruit now... which i dont like but calories are calories right?

Other than that... in terms of working out ive been doing awesome! No laziness, just extreme drive to look good :)

ALSO yea i only lost 0.6lbs but i feel and LOOK different... at least i think so lol. i didnt lose any inches but i do feel my tummy is a little tighter (ive been doing more planks than i ever have in a year). also my legs are much more muscular! And last nite i was able to jog (5.0spd) on the treadmill for 25min! i havent been able to do that since i was actually 130-125ish.

So right now im trying to find a weight loss challenge that will last about a month... or two. im still doing my own 6 week challenge (i just decided on 6 weeks because thats what jillian michaels does in that one show :) ) but i want a longer challenge with other people + videos.

GOAL FOR THIS WEEK:
- ive been incorporating ALOT of interval/circuit training because it keeps me from getting bored with cardio and time goes by MUCH faster. BUT what i was doing was doing probably 30min actual cardio/jogging/elliptical and maybe 20-30 of various weight/bodyweight training. dont get me wrong, the circuits keep my heart rate up and me sweating but i think i need more "actual" cardio. maybe ill lose more?

So - 45min at least of any cardio (walking/jogging/elliptical/moonwalker) PLUS circuit training on most days. If i can, i probably will end up doing a whole hour of cardio.... at least on tues and wednesday. I will still have one day of rest (which was today) and one day of pilates/stretching workout which is kind of another resting day. but im gonna kick ASS this week.

Sat - Gym 60min elliptical/jogging + pilates at night
Sun - jog/walk 45 + circuit (sarahs circuit - jog 10, various exercises, repeat 3x, walk at end)
Mon - Gym 60min elliptical/jogging
Tues - Gym 60min elliptical/jogging/walking + circuit (30min -my own)
Wednes - same as Tues
Thurs - jog/walk 45 + circuit (any circuit just make sure i end with 45min cardio)

that means 4 days of 45+min cardio plus circuit training, and 2 days of just plain cardio. Im probably gonna try for a whole 60min of cardio all 6 days. it doesnt have to be 60min of just jogging, it just needs to be me moving (walking fast is fine). You know what no, im gnona make it all 60min and see what the results are next friday.

S - Gym 60min elliptical/jogging + pilates at night
Su - Jog/walk 60 + circuit (sarahs circuit - jog 10, various exercises, repeat 3x, walk at end)
M - Gym 60min elliptical/jogging
T - Gym 60min elliptical/jogging/walking + circuit (30min -my own)
W - Same as Tues
R - Jog/walk 60 + circuit (any circuit just make sure i end with 60min cardio)

Eating: GOAL - 1300 WITHOUT COUNTING EXERCISE.
i want to have a deficit of 400-500 calories. My BMR = 1400ish so if i eat 1300, thats only a 100 difference. probably with the exercise regiment above, i should burn between 500-600 so... total burned = BMR + exercise =1900-2000 burned - 1300 food = 600-700 deficit. Every now and then ill be okay with eating 1400-1500 but i wanna see what happens this week if i do it that way. I might adjust this plan if i find i burn more than i thought.

I always think 'wow i dont have time to work out for 90min?! i have too much to do! when i actually spend that much time (if not more) doing useless shit. so here we go week 3

Update!

Stats: -1.2 = 144.4

Its been one week (well it was on friday) and i have lost -1.2lbs :)

not bad! considering i started on a sunday and only worked out maybe 3-4x. I did mostly interval training with Patricia and elliptical cardio. im incorporating a newer interval set - run 10min, do like 5min various intervals and repeating 3x. its from the sarahfitchannel and i really enjoy it! i realized that most of those work out DVDS use interval training or circuit training incorporating weights... so why not just do it on my own, with my own exercises, and at my own pace. its nice to just make them up on the spot because theres no monotony and my muscles are always anticipating smoething new!

also! green smoothies!

omg my appetite for most foods have gone down. i mean i still wanna eat bad things but i get full so fast. mostly when i eat solid foods like meat. but i LOVE my green smoothies. SO far my favorite has half a banana, 2c RAW kale, 1c spinach and like a handful of frozen strawberries. no juice, no sugar, just water and ice. so good. Also. i only like UNFLAVORED protein powders lol. i made one with vanilla and it was.... not that great. lol i coudnt taste any fruit.

but anyways the goal of next week (fridays are my weigh-ins) will be 143lbs. that means at LEAST -.5lbs. I will be working out everyday starting from today so thats (well starting from saturday - i didnt do cardio saturday but i did do pilates) 5 days of cardio till friday. im hoping to lose 1.2lbs again. if i do... maybe i can get a snack on friday with my mom ^_^

Day 1

Official Starting weight: ----- 145.6lbs ----- goal for next friday or monday = 144.x

So far todays calories will be 1400 total - 500 burned. good day. had some left over mcD fries tho... but we will keep going! gonna have my first kale smoothie today and im so excited ^_^. Gonna go to the gym later tonite. Not sure which gym i feel like going to... i should be fine just going to the vallejo one (worried about safety lol - im probably gonna go at like 830p).

Hello me!!!

I forgot I had this blog and well its the right time to start up again... blogging about my horrible weight loss. So to get things up to date... its been 2 years since I initially started losing weight, and back then I was 129lbs average... I am unfortunately back up to probably 147lbs or so. I guess I feel.... happy (?) that it took me 2 years to gain back almost 20 lbs but makes me very said too.

Im pretty sure it all happened once Robert came back from NJ. I fell back into old habits and I lost motivation as each pound was gained back. I kept telling myself 'oh its only one more pound, ill lose it tomorrow' (which obviously never happened). I bounced around 130-135 for a while but it was Fall 2012 till now that I got back up to the 140s... I feel so lost and FAT that its almost unbearable. I only fit into 2 pairs of pants comfortably and everything else I own is a size 7 to 6 (my lowest weight). So... I am a fatty.

Good thing is I am very motivated now to try to get back to where I was very soon. Well not soon... lets see, I have 16 weeks till my birthday... so my goal is to lose 15lbs before then (bringing me to 130s). I read my old blogs so Im going to try to get back on the calorie watching diet PLUS some new stuff.

11 day change starter:
Starting from today I will be working out 5 days/wk for 45-60min. My earlier blog said that my old trainer suggested I just work out 4 days/wk for 60min OR better would be 5 days/wk for 45min. It might be that I might just do the 45min first and see if that is good for me... since 60min is soooooo torturous. Then on the other 2 days, ill do some sort of weight training (either a 20min video that incorporates weights and cardio/gym weights and machines/intervals where I incorporate weights) for like 20-30min.

In terms of caloric intake, I will be keeping it under 1200-1400cal not counting calories burned. And the new part of this diet will be the incorporation of green smoothie meal replacements. I am not looking to do a complete green smoothie diet (which usually means you ONLY DRINK the smoothies... for a given amount of time) but rather I am just trying to get more dark greens and fruits into my system. I already started drinking the smoothies and I am pretty sure it is working for me because ive been experiencing very uncomfortable stomach issues since the beginning. My body is obviously not used to the amount of spinach ive been eating :P So I will be drinking 1-2 smoothies daily (daily so that its NOT a diet, its just im learning to incorporate it in my daily life - plus its super delicious and refreshing): once in the morning and the other either as a snack or replacing another meal. IF i decide to replace it with another meal, i will try to make it caloric and nutritionally fit (i will be adding multivitamins and other fruits).

I will also be weighing in on Mondays... well we will see this coming monday. Im hoping to lose weight or at least be lighter than i last checked... (i think i was 146 ;/)

Summary:
- 5 day/wk - 45-60min cardio
- 2 day/wk - 15-30min weight training/interval weights/dvd
- keep caloric intake under 1200-1400 before exercise calories
- drink 1-2 green smoothies a day, 1 as breakfast and the other as snacks or lunch/dinner meal replacement (i will always eat at least one whole meal that will generally be free of bad foods haha)
